Kip's Desert Book Club
the dispossessed by ursula k. leguin
march 5, 2018 in north joshua tree

Tonelise Rugas, great lover of science fiction, is pleased to host the March 5th Book Club meeting at 7pm. Of her several book suggestions, I felt that in memory of the recent passing of the great Ursula K. LeGuin, we should be reading her book, The Dispossessed

To get to the meeting place from down town Joshua Tree on Hwy 62, turn North at the light on Sunburst, right on Golden, left on Border, keep your eyes peeled for the Pole and Del Oro signs and turn left on Winters, with the street sign and Book Club sign on the left hand side of the road. Drive about one mile and turn left on McGarry and Tonelise will be the third or fourth house on the left, (depends on what one considers a house). I'll make sure to have the big white signs out to guide you in. We will be meeting outside, weather permitting, so bring a folding chair if you have one.

For more desert book activities in the Morongo Basin this month, author Ivy Pachoda will be reading from her new novel, Wonder Valley, on Thursday February 8th from 7 to 9 pm at the Palms Restaurant and Bar, 83131 Amboy Road and also Friday February 9th at Space Cowboy Bookstore from 3 to 4 pm, 61871 Twentynine Palms Highway in Joshua Tree. I look forward to meeting her and seeing you guys there. —Kip
