Archive Intern

High Desert Test Sites seeks highly motivated applicants for an internship based out of our headquarters in Joshua Tree, CA.  This is a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into the inner workings of a growing contemporary arts organization.

The HDTS archive intern’s responsibilities include:
     -maintaining the HDTS image and project archives
     -maintaining the online archive
     -collecting project documentation and files
     -photographing/scanning artworks, publications, and other projects
     -managing press clippings
     -fielding press and image requests
     -fielding visitor inquiries and HDTS HQ Life Enhancement Shop sales
     -providing support at HDTS events
     -general administrative support

The intern may also be responsible for special projects based on individual interests and skills and/or the organization’s current needs.

The ideal applicant has a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Illustrator) and has a strong interest in nonprofit management, image and file management, contemporary art, and the high desert environs.

The intern will work at the High Desert Test Sites Headquarters in downtown Joshua Tree for a minimum of three months (one day a week and occasional weekends, hours and dates negotiable).  Although internships are unpaid, college course credit may be arranged.
